Arrival

We arrived at the train station bright and early this morning. Our hotel was a short, first time cab ride from the station. The train was sold out so it was a packed house. We had purchased business class tickets which were well worth the money.

The train ride was wonderful and it certainly didn't seem like a four hour ride. The scenery was beautiful-mountains, coastline and several bald eagle sightings. We'll definitely consider the train for future trips.

Another quick cab ride from the train station to our rental cottage-The Hideaway. It's small, but well designed and decorated. The gardens must be beautiful in the spring and summer. Already there are flowers blooming! The best part is it's about a five minute walk to the curling venue.

It's been another rainy day so after a short trip to the market, we decided to just spend tonight relaxing. Canadian television has many more channels of Olympic coverage to choose from so we've been watching all of the events. Tomorrow we plan to explore nearby Queen Elizabeth Park and maybe the downtown pavilions.

Our first Vancouver fire truck sighting while on the way back from the market.
