Sunday Part 1

Today started gray and dreary, but turned sunny and spring like this afternoon. First we decided to take a quick walk to the curling venue, just to check out the location and entrance. We stumbled on the Vancouver Curling Club. Keith's friend making skills soon gained us a tour of the interior.

There are 5 sheets of ice and a double decker viewing area. The ice technician was friendly and informative, giving us a little history of the club and inviting us back later in the week for socializing after the curling events. We might have to take him up on that as it seems a great place to hang out and talk curling.

After the curling club we visited Queen Elizabeth Park and the Bloedel Conservatory. There were many varieties of plants, flowers, and bird species. It was a nice change from the damp, cool weather outside. The gardens outside were also beautiful and the view from the park was spectacular. Much of the city was visible-although not the nearby mountains.
